Good morning, EatGR.
Today is the soft opening for the Old Goat in Alger Heights. We posted 11 of their dishes last night, and if that food is any indication of future success, the Old Goat will do well. The Old Goat will also be featuring a deli in the back of the restaurant for those of you who are looking to make your own food at home with fresh deli meats. Make sure to drop by and show your support.
Another new restaurant, Peaches Cafe, has opened in Eastown. I do not have a lot of information about them but I will try to get by so I can post the menu.
In 3 short days, EatGR will be hosting the Get The Truck Out food truck rally at the downtown market. This Saturday from 11am-4pm we will have A Moveable Feast, Gettin’ Fresh, the Organic Gypsy, Love’s Ice Cream, and Dallas Deli providing some fantastic food truck cuisine to our foodie community. Come on down and show your support for these food trucks.
Last Chance Tavern is going to have their first beer dinner with Founders Brewing on June 10 at 6:30 pm. Last chance has been making several changes and upgrades over the last year and is trying to change their image of being a dive bar to something a littlemore substantial, especially where food is concerned. $30 seems like an amazing price to me for an event like for this, and this would be a good entry-level price for somebody who is never experienced a beer or wine dinner. This would also be a great opportunity for you to take a peek at the new Last Chance Tavern.
As usual, we have a lot of new restaurants and food events to keep the food community informed about. If you hear about something new on the horizon that we may have missed, please let us know so we can share with the rest of the food community.
