Food News Galore For Wednesday September 23, 2015

Today is such a huge day in local food that I don’t know where to start.

Luna opens up on 64 Ionia today, just in time for Art Prize.  Luna just completed two very successful friends and family nights and will be open to the public starting today at 6 p.m.

Speaking of Art Prize, Food Trucks are back.  No more complaining that you don’t know where to find them, we have been told that there will be 11 food trucks stationed at the B.O.B. for the duration of Art Prize and in the ballpark of six trucks at the Grand Rapids Public Museum and Rosa Parks Circle, 1 food truck is scheduled to be stationed on one of the bridges that spans the Grand River.  I have been told that 3pm is the start time today for the food trucks at the B.O.B. and 11 a.m. for the trucks today at Rosa Parks Circle.  The following is the tentative list of trucks that I have scheduled:

Daddy Petes Award winning barbecue.

Finally, Small Town Sandwich Shop, our friends to the west in Spring Lake, are opening today.  EatGR was fortunate enough to get a preview of their food menu it is great stuff.

If supporting our local restaurants/food trucks is your thing, these next 3 weeks will be huge for that.  Please get out there and show your support for all of these places.  Support the new restaurants, so that we can help cement their success.  Support the food trucks so that we can get the silly food truck laws in this town changed and have a thriving food truck scene in this great town.
