Pozole (This weeks featured dish)
I see the majority of restaurants spend their entire existence in one building, but Lindo Mexico is the exception to this rule. Last month, Lindo moved into its 3rd location (1742 28th St. SW, Wyoming, MI 49519) in just 6 short years with each successive location being nearly twice the size of the previous. It is crazy to see the exponential growth of this once small restaurant, but it makes perfect sense if you are a regular patron.
Lindo Mexico makes almost all of their food from scratch. Tamales, Sopes, Diabla sauce…all made by Chef Chris on a daily basis. I have to admit that I had personally never associated the word “chef” with Mexican cooking, but chef Chris is truly a master of his craft. As a lifelong fan of Mexican food, I am always impressed with the quality of food that I receive at Lindo.
Aside from their food, Lindo Mexico is also popular with the Margarita crowd as well. In addition to the traditional margarita that we are all familiar with, they serve several custom margaritas including some tradtional mexican flavors like tamarind, mango, and chamoy.
All in all, there is a lot to be excited about with the new Lindo Mexico. A new outdoor patio, an actual sit down bar, a semi-private seating area for birthdays and other events, and the same scratch cooking that we have come to expect from this standout in local Mexican restaurants. If you have never been to Lindo before, I predict that you will really enjoy their traditional offerings. If you are a lifelong fan, you are going to love the upgraded facility.
